History

Russo’s Catering Company was established in 1961, by Matthew Russo. After 10 years of building a solid reputation of personal service and excellent food, Russo‘s Catering took over management of Creve Coeur Country Club. With the loss of Matthew Russo in 1979, his wife Fran and son John took over the operation and eventually were joined by family members Mark, Tom, Mike and Linda.

In 1989, Russo’s Gourmet Express division was introduced. The goal was to make eating in the office more like eating at a fine restaurant. Deliveries of gourmet box lunches and hot buffets are made daily to many local businesses throughout the metropolitan St. Louis area.

In 1991, Russo’s acquired property at 9904 Page Avenue, which now houses the company headquarters and the central commissary where all preparation of food takes place. This new central location and expansion allowed Russo’s to open a café with indoor and outdoor seating, which serves a modern home-style lunch.

By 1998, Russo’s Catering had grown to a total of four facilities and 90 employees, and had won a spot on the annual St. Louis Riverfront Times Ten Top St. Louis Caterers list for its consistency in quality and performance. The company’s services had expanded to include many facets of complete event planning.

In 2001, Russo’s opened Spazio Westport, located in Maryland Heights which features a formal ballroom and the adjacent Garden Room and Bistro offer a more casual setting for any type of private banquet. Spazio Bistro opened for daily lunch and after work specials.

At present, Russo’s Catering continues to be a well-known name in the St. Louis area. Russo’s recently added an operations facility to its headquarters on Page Avenue to help with our increasing business in full service catering & weddings. Recent renovations have also been made to Graphic Arts Banquet Center, Xavier Grand Ballroom and Spazio Westport. Russo’s is continuing to become the preferred caterer to many of the new and finest St. Louis venues.
